Wilfried Zaha has added to Crystal Palace’s worries by posting a picture on his Instagram showing him wearing a protective boot.Two days after the Eagles suffered a second consecutive defeat, this time losing 3-2 at West Ham, Zaha uploaded an image of him on the treatment table at the club’s Beckenham-based training ground.3

Accompanied with the picture the 26-year-old wrote: “back to the drawing board” which will be a major concern to Palace supporters.Zaha was already out of this Saturday’s match against Leicester through suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season late on against the Hammers.Roy Hodgson will be desperate to have his main man back for the busy festive period, having won just three times season.The Eagles have also not picked up a single point in the 13 games played without Zaha since September 2016.The attacker was out for two months at the beginning of last season with a knee injury, before returning to inspire Palace and help them end a run of seven matches without a win when he scored the winner against Chelsea.3

Crystal Palace will hope the injury to Zaha is not serious

Back in September, the Ivory Coast international urged for referees to offer him more protection after claiming opponents were out to hurt him.“I know that for a fact [opponents are out there to hurt me] but I just don’t know what to do anymore,”Zaha said.“I end up arguing with referees because today the guy studded me in my shin – do they need to break my leg before anyone gets a red card?“Last week at Watford he jumped on my calf. What more do I need to do to get the same treatment as other players?“I can’t say anything else. I just have to do my best and not lose my temper and play football.”Following their home fixture with the Foxes this weekend, Palace travel to Manchester City and then play Cardiff City on Boxing Day.
