Chelsea have third best squad in the Premier League but the worst manager Andy Jacobs slams Maurizio Sarri in talkSPORT rant
Chelsea fan Andy Jacobs has branded Maurizio Sarri the worst manager in the Premier League in his latest rant about the perfect storm at Stamford Bridge. The talkSPORT host tore apart the Italian boss following Monday nights 2-2 draw with Burnley, as the Blues wasted a chance to strengthen their bid for a top-four finish. All four goals were scored in a thrilling opening 24 minutes, with Chelsea frustrated by the stubborn Clarets at Stamford Bridge.Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley that dealt a huge blow to their top four hopes3

It was a huge missed opportunity for the west Londoners after top-four rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United all lost over the weekend; a win would have lifted Chelsea to third place, two points ahead of Spurs. And Andy wasnt best pleased about the result or Sarris team selection, and he hopes the Italian boss will return to his homeland in the summer, amid speculation he is wanted by Roma and Inter Milan. Id be amazed if Sarri will still be manager next season, said the talkSPORT host on Tuesdays Hawksbee and Jacobs show.Hes wanted back in Italy, so with a bit of luck Chelsea will get out of having to pay him off.Hes just not up to it.I think Chelsea have got the third best squad and probably the worst manager in the league. The things he does, the second-halfitis thingIts happened eight times where theyve given a goal away within ten minutes of half-time thats something that just shouldnt happen.Burnley celebrate their second goal at Stamford Bridge3

Theyre never going to score in the second-half, they just dont do that, especially with the substitutions he makes. He never changes his tactics!Speaking of tactics, Andy was particularly baffled and infuriated by a certain half-time substitution, which Sarri appeared to believe would throw the game in the Blues favour. It didnt.

Ive got nothing to say about Burnley other than well done, he added. They defended well and did what Burnley do.It was down to Chelsea to break them down and the half-time substitution of Mateo Kovacic [brought on for N’Golo Kante] was ridiculous.Youre only got four or five games left of the season, just play your best players! It doesnt matter if they played on Thursday. I suppose Sarri thought Ross Barkley had played too many minutes…Andy Jacobs is not the biggest fan of Mateo Kovacic3

It was clear, needing a goal, you dont bring on a bloke who brings no goal threat whatsoever [Kovacic] he cant put in a through ball, hes never going to score and he cant cross.Hes brilliant at passing it backwards five yards, hes wonderful at that. Thats his skill. Its sort of a perfect storm for Chelsea at the moment. [They’ve got] an absentee owner, the star player [Eden Hazard] leaving, his heir apparent [Callum Hudson-Odoi] out until December, an ageing defence, a rubbish manager… and they’re playing in the Europa League which basically does your league form in completely!
