Spurs’ Under-18 side took on their Southampton counterparts and ran out 3-1 winners, with J’Neil Bennett netting the first ever goal at the new ground. The north London club have been playing at Wembley nearly two entire seasons while the 1billion stadium was built. They were due to move into their new home last September, but the opening date has continually been pushed back due to numerous delays. The end is now in sight for Spurs fans, however, who have been forced to watch their team at Wembley for far longer than originally expected.A second Test event – a legends match vs Inter Milan – will be played next Saturday before the venue officially opens for Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on April 3.
