Eleven fans were arrested after Port Vale’s derby clash with Stoke City‘s Under-21s ended in despicable violence on Tuesday night.Match stewards were caught in the crossfire as supporters hurled bottles at coins onto the pitch in the first Potteries derby between the local rivals in 16 years.Stokes youngsters lost the Checkatrade Trophy game 4-0.Considerable damage was caused to Vale Park – including seats being ripped out, windows smashed and toilets broken.

There was some despicable behaviour by a large number of fans, which has caused considerable damage to the away section of Vale Park.“We are taking this very seriously and I expect there to be more arrests in the coming days as we examine CCTV coverage and gather evidence of the crimes committed.
