“I’ve always said as long as the club is moving in the right direction and showing the right ambition, I want to be part of the journey,” Kane told ESPN.Tottenham, under manager Mauricio Pochettino, are currently third in the Premier League and into the Champions League quarter-finals. They’ve also achieved top three finishes for the last three seasons and not spent any money in the previous two transfer windows, while they move into their new stadium next month. The club have not won a trophy since their 2008 League Cup triumph over Chelsea, however, while the wait for a league title stretches back 58 years.“People forget that, not too long ago, we were nowhere near this level,” he added.“We’ve got as many points as we’ve ever had, I think, at this stage of the season.“We’ve done so much in a short space of time.“Of course we want to go on to the next level and win the Premier League, and win trophies,” he said. “But to consistently outperform these teams that have always been above us, it shows that we’re in a good place.”Kane would love to look back on his career and say he won trophies as well as playing in one of the best ever Tottenham teams2

Pochettino’s side has won admirers for the style of play, but many in the game, including Jose Mourinho, will point to the fact that sooner or later, trophies are what counts.
  • Opinion: ‘Tottenham won’t do an Arsenal – they’ll sign new players to take into new stadium’

“A lot of people look at it and say this is maybe the best team we’ve had, maybe the best team we’ll ever have, and the best manager, but it’s important that we have something to show for it,” the 25-year-old, who has scored 125 goals in 179 Premier League games and won two Golden Boots, acknowledges.
