Newcastle United were the surprise addition to the 2019 Deloitte Money League – a report profiling the highest revenue generating clubs in world football.The report, published eight months after the end of the 2017-18 season, concluded football is continuing to boom with the 20 best earning clubs in the world generating a record 7.4billion of combined revenue – an increase of 6% on the previous year.Newcastle have broken into the Deloitte 2019 Money League Top 2031

In total, a record six Premier League sides feature in the top 10 and it is Newcastle who have stunned the footballing powerhouses to creep into the top 20.The Magpies have not featured on the list since 2014/15 and make the list after earning less than 100million in the previous season when theyachieved promotion from theChampionship.Liverpool experienced the highest revenue increase in the Top 10 after a fantastic season saw them reach the Champions League Final. The Reds are also the highest climbers.The report from the global financial powerhouse focuses on how club’s are able to generate revenue on matchdays (i.e. through ticket and corporate sales), broadcast rights and commercial sources (i.e. sponsorship and merchandising).
